Washoe County Regional Animal Services, in collaboration with local partners, is expanding access to pet microchip scanning by placing public microchip scanning stations throughout Washoe County. These stations are designed to help community members reunite lost pets with their families more quickly and safely—no trip to the shelter required.
How It Works
Visit a public microchip scanning station to scan a found pet's chip.
Each scanner includes instructions on how to read and look up a microchip.
If the pet is microchipped, you can contact the registry who will put you in touch with the owner.
